Its pretty easy to make your own chicken broth using the slow cooker and I like to make it ahead and freeze so I can make soup quickly on busy nights.
1. In a slow cooker, place onions, carrots (washed, leave peel on), and celery (Tip: freeze the inner part of the celery to use in recipes like this). Add my favorite seasoning...steak seasoning.
3. Add about 4 cups of water. Put lid on and set for 4, 6, or 8 hours.
(Tip: There is still lots of flavor left in the chicken bones and vegetables. Add the bones to the vegetables and add 4 cups of water. Cook again 4 hours. Strain and you have more broth. Repeat 2 times in desired.)
