You can buy things to hang on your walls at Hobby Lobby, Bed Bath & Beyond, and even Target and Home Depot. The problem with these pieces? They are not unique and over priced (in my opinion).
If you have a blank wall in your home that you'd be interested in filling with custom artwork I'd love to meet with you and discuss what I can create for you! Just go to my Contact page and send me a message! You can also see more examples of artwork I've created here.
Here's how our conversation might go:
YOU: "I like blue, green, yellow and red. I like nature and trees. I like abstract. I want it to fit above our living room couch."
ME: "Sounds fun! Would you be interested in 1 large piece, or maybe 2 or 3 pieces that fit together? With multiple pieces you could always move them around/split them up to different rooms later if you ever wanted. We can measure the space and I can make custom sized canvases if needed."
YOU: "That's a great idea, I hadn't thought about that. I think 3 pieces would look nice. You make your own canvases?"
ME: "Yes, I can't always find the size of canvas I need at the store so I enlist my husband's help to build about any size imaginable! What were you thinking for a budget."
YOU: "Before talking to you I found something I sort of liked at World Market and they were $99.99 each, and I'd need at least 2...and they weren't even what I had in my mind for color and design. So, I think around $250-300 would be what I could spend."
ME: "That sounds good. I can do something that you described for that."
YOU: "Great! What do you need to start?"
ME: "I would love to see the space were the paintings will go! Let's arrange a time I can come over and we can talk about your designs more. You can show me any colors, patterns, inspiration you may already have. After that I'll sketch some ideas and put together some color pallets. We'll work back and forth until I have something you like."
YOU: "That sounds wonderful. How long will it take?"
ME: "I allow about 2 weeks for sketching and getting the design confirmed. Then about 4 to 6 weeks for me to paint; depending on how complex the design is."
YOU: "This is exciting, I can't wait. Do I pay you now?"
ME: "No payment until the end. Never pay someone up front. Only exception would be a small deposit for supplies. I can't wait to get started on your project. Thanks so much for asking me to create something for your home!"
